Feb 28-Mar 1 STATE wrestling at Ohio State University Cody Smith fought his way back for a third place finish after losing his only match in overtime at the quarterfinals to this year's state champion, Orlando Scales of Cincinnati Elder.  Gavin Moore finished his state competition 1-2 while Danny Boone closed with a 0-2 record.  <wrestling Division 1 results>

Mar 1  STATE bowling - girls at Tiki Lanes Kathryn Cox finished with a 257 game for a 647 series and third place in individual standings at Girls Bowling State.  <bowling state individual results>

  
Mar 1  STATE gymnastics (individuals) at Hilliard Darby HS  Kelsey Zimmerman finished 8th in the individual Vault and 8th in the  All-Around, scoring a 9.225 on beam, 9.050 on both vault and bars and and 8.800 on the floor exercise.  Megan Gill finished in the top 20 on bars and 28th in the All-Around. <gymnastics-info>

 qualified for State this weekend.  Kathryn Cox and Courtney Hobbs were the top Beaver bowlers.

Feb 23  girls basketball district finals vs Oak Hills lost 45-33Beavers finished the season as District runner-up.  scoring:  Mikaela Ruef 10, Emily Zimmerman 6, Sara Kocian 6 Jacklyn Klaus 4, Sammy Haddix 3, Bre Hardenstein 2, Lindy Wolaver 2.

  
Feb 23  boys basketball sectional finals vs Centerville lost 49-29A gutsy, never-say-die squad closed out their season and gave Head Coach Charlie Back a sectional runner-up finish in his final game with the Beavers.  scoring: Tommy Kramer 6, Alex Marolo 6, Kyle Eakins 6, Anthony Valerio 3, Mike Hauschild 2 ,KC Christiansen 2,  Alex Arthur 2, Brad Sundstrom 2.

  
Feb 23  wrestling district  team 5th at Hilliard Darby. Gavin Moore Champion (130) at district. Cody Smith (215) finished 2nd and Danny Boone (160) 4th. All three qualified for State this weekend.  Jake Berman finished 5th at district.  Also at stake was an invitation to the 2009 State Duals Qualification which Beavercreek achieved thanks to points compiled by Moore, Smith, Boone, Berman, Jeremy Jones, Andy Huffman, Quenten Pemberton and Blaise Dilley.

  
Feb 23  gymnastics district at Centerville team 8th  Kelsey Zimmerman won the floor exercise and took 2nd in the vault.  Megan Gill finished 2nd in the uneven parallel bars.  Both girls qualified for State this weekend.

Feb 22-23 STATE swim Aaron Buchanan 4th (200 IM), and 13th in the 500 freestyle, singlehandedly earning the Beavercreek boys a 26th place finish.   Junior Cari Martin finished 23rd in the 100 back.  Great Season!

Jan 19/20  swim/dive 25th annual SW Ohio Classic - 109 teams (including Anderson, Centerville, Fairfield, Fairmont, Lakota West, Loveland, Mason, Moeller, Springboro, Springfield Central Catholic, St. Xavier, St. Ursula, Sycamore, Turpin, Ursuline, Wyoming

Jan 19  bowling at "Baker Bash' tournament  Creek boys black team finished 3rd and the orange team placed 6th in the 14 team event.  The girls team placed 3rd (out of 10), missing second place by 10 pins.

  
Jan 19  girls basketball home vs Springfield South  won 70-25  Beaver varsity overcame an early deficit and sluggish first quarter for the win.  Creek scoring was led by Jaclyn Klaus (14) and Emily Zimmerman (13).  Beavers hit on 9 'threes' including two each by Klaus, Zimmerman and Erin Walsh.  JVs won 61-30

Jan 18  boys basketball home vs North  won 85-46  Creek's home crowd cheered on its seven seniors in their final home game.  Kyle Eakins led the senior scoring with 23 points (including three 3-point scores) followed by Anthony Valerio 14, Alex Marolo 11, Tommy Kramer 6, KC Christiansen 6, Brian Sheppard 4 and Mike Hauschild 3. Jan 15  boys basketball home vs Lebanon   won 59-57  Beavercreek led by 13 after three quarters but squandered most of it in the fourth quarter.  Lebanon's 6'7" Derek Hellemann hit for 31 Warrior points but the Beavers all shared in this team win with 7 three-point shots (2 by Anthony Valerio).  scoring:  Alex Marolo 19, Kyle Eakins 10, Tommy Kramer 8, Valerio 8, KC Christiansen 4, Alex Arthur 4, Brad Sundstrom 3, Mike Hauschild 2, Tyler Pollock 1.  JVs won 55-51.  Next game, Friday January 18 is the Beavers last home game and senior night.

Beavers Upset State Ranked C-J Beaver girls basketball stepped up big-time as a team to outplay CJ each and every quarter.  Mikaela Ruef (13), Jaclyn Klaus (11), Erin Walsh (7) and Emily Zimmerman (7) were the top Beaver scorers.  Creek defense continually frazzled Eagle attempts to get back in the game.  The JV team lost 36-29 and the Freshmen won 40-32.
