  2/1/2011 Kelly Blumenschein (BHS '07) recently received the University of Dayton 2011 Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award. The Presidential Scholar Athlete Award is the most prestigious award presented at the Scholar-Athlete Awards Reception. It recognizes two student-athletes, one male and one female, who have demonstrated academic excellence, qualities of leadership, and service to the University of Dayton community.
Blumenschein is a three-time All-Atlantic 10 Conference selection. A double major in marketing and entrepreneurship with a minor in Spanish, she carries a 3.72 GPA. She was a 2010 Lowe's Senior CLASS Top 30 finalist and was also three-time ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District.  Blumenschein was one of 11 players named to the 2010 Atlantic-10 All-Academic Team and was second team academic all-region.  A two-year co-captain and a four-year starter, Blumenschein is UD's representative on the A-10 Student-Athlete Advisory Council.    pictured are the two UD student athlete winners: left is Chris Woeste from Alter and right is Kelly Blumenschein.
    

 
  2/21/2011 Mike Hauschild (BHS '08), a junior at University of Dayton, was named the Atlantic-10 Pitcher of the week for his complete game 8-3 victory against Lipscomb.  Huschild retired the last nine batters in order.  He allowed 2 earned runs, and one walk with 8 strikeouts.
