31Jul09 ...  Justin Masterson (BHS '03) was traded to the Cleveland Indians today (from the Boston red Sox).

Jul09 ...  Michael Hauschild (BHS '08) was one of three UD baseball players to receive All-Star honors in the summer wooden bats league.  Mike (pictured right) is playing this summer for the Grand Lake Mariners in the Great Lakes League.  Through the all-star break Mike had a 2.28 ERA with 24 strikeouts and 10 walks.

 Jun09 ...  Dustin Lacy (BHS '05) spent this summer playing baseball for the Hamilton Joes summer college team.  They are in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. (see also www.hamiltonjoes.com)

apr09   Wes Hendricks (BHS '07) won the 400m dash for the second straight year and was on the conference runner up 4x400 relay at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships. His Heidelberg University men's track and field team took
home team runner-up honors at the 2009 Championships.
may09   James Eric (BHS '05) finishes his University of Findlay track career with school records in the weight throw (63'09.00) and hammer throw (206.02).  Eric was a 2009 NCAA Division II All-American.

may09   Three former Beavercreek athletes who were freshmen on Miami University Middletown's baseball team received league honors in the Ohio Regional
Campus Conference...  Pete Slivinski and Brandon Ward were All-Conference,
Brian Shepard and Brandon Ward were academic All-Conference.
13mar09  James Eric (BHS '05), a senior at the University of Findlay, was named All-American  in the weight throw at the 2009 NCAA Divison II National Championship <story and picture 3/13> 
25mar09  Eric was also named GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference) Field Athlete of the Week for his hammer throw toss of 60.04 meters
at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational Track and Field meet in Cincinnati.  Eric also
finished 2nd in the discus (48.78m) at the same meet. <story and picture 3/25>
