Creek Football vs Carroll

2005

Football 8/26/05 . . . Riverside . . .                      Carroll 34 - Beavercreek 14

The weather threatened varsity game did not scare anyone away as both sides were overflowing with fans willing to endure multiple rain showers.  Creek spirits were high throughout the first half.  Although the Patriots controlled the ball and scored on their first possession in a 17 play drive, the Beavers fought back.  With help from two costly Patriot special team errors the Beavers were on the board at 10:48 of the 2nd quarter with a Zach Domicone nine yard run and Pat Williams extra point. To say the team struggled in many areas is an understatement an injury took Domicone out of the game just before the second half.  Chad White took the Beavers helm with an effective passing game to augment Creek's running game [124 total yards] which eventually lead Creek to a 4th quarter score on a Jack Jones 8 yard run and Williams XP. Carroll's offense added a score in the third quarter and two more in the fourth to put the game away.  Final varsity score Carroll 34, Beavercrek 14.  Other Creek notables were Aaron Alford and Dee Wallace, each with a fumble recovery and Eric Hill with five receptions totaling 60 yards.  Avid Pureval averaged 35 yards/punt.

Though week 1 was disappointing, early season games are designed to uncover flaws that can be fixed before league play opens up.  Beavers start season two under Scott Clodfelter with a tougher schedule than last year and having lost many starters to academics.  The players left are tougher and stronger with 18 senior leaders.  The team will correct their inconsistencies and fans will see an improved Beaver team in their home opener this Friday against 0-1 Fairborn.  Creek joins GWOC rivals Fairmont and Wayne with week 1 losses.

32-8 final.

Freshmen were welcomed to high school football with a 30-0 loss.

Although not a regular feature on Creek Sports, above are a selection of pictures from Saturday football.  L - Derick Loesch, JD Bales and Jon Hall put a Patriot in his place.  C - Derick Olson kept the fans cheering with multiple carries.  R- Freshman quarterback Tyler Mclean works to escape the grasp of a Patriot.
