Creek Football vs Centerville

2005

Football 10/7/05 . . .            Centerville 28 - Beavercreek 0

Creek football continued to improve this week.  Team energy was positive, the best it's been this year, and sidelines support, a can-win attitude, was constant throughout the game.

The offense had a tough night, only 95 rushing and 26 passing yards, there were 4 passing completions and Dee Wallace managed 86 total yards.  Jack Jones had a 20 yard kickoff return and 25 rushing yards for the night.  Creek had to start deep in their own territory most of the time and stifled Beaver progress with penalties in over half their possessions.

The standout and excitement Friday night was a renewed energy on defense which held the Elks scoreless in the first and third quarters.  Justin Hull recovered a Centerville fumble and Robert Durham led a "host of Beavers" in a 3rd quarter quarterback sack that forced the Elks to turnover the ball on downs.

Field position was the gravy train for the Elks offense who were troubled by penalties and fumbles throughout the game.  Three of the four times the Elks began possession in Creek territory, they scored.  Creek can still make a difference in their season record by winning the final three games against South, Xenia and Fairmont.  The final home game and senior night is this Friday.
